What is VUSSC?
The Virtual University for Small States of the Commonwealth (VUSSC) is a network of small countries committed to the collaborative development of free content resources for use in an educational context.
VUSSC and The Commonwealth of Learning
The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) co-ordinates the development of the Virtual University of Small States of the Commonwealth on behalf of Commonwealth Ministers of Education.
The Virtual University of Small States of the Commonwealth is not a tertiary institution. Rather, it is a mechanism for small countries to collaboratively develop, adapt and share courses and learning materials.
VUSSC Capacity Building Workshops
The Virtual University of Small States of the Commonwealth helps small island states build capacity of their educational institutions, to support the creation of accreditation mechanisms and to facilitate the offering of educational programmes by small states for themselves and others.
The Transnational Qualifications Framework (TQF) for the Virtual University for the Small States is the most international, collaborative system for capacity building, skills development and greater access to quality-assured qualifications.
Support VUSSC Activities
The VUSSC provides some of the world’s smallest countries with stronger economic opportunities through skilled human resources and improved access to quality education.
